The Samsung Sync is is a nice functional cell phone for someone who is looking for something sleek and durable. It’s nothing flashy but offers great functionality. This cell phone review was pretty easy to write as this cellular phone isn’t super complicated.
One feature that I actually look for in a cell phone is a camera phone feature. This phone has a built in 2 megapixel camera which is pretty high quality. Some people think of camera phones are just one needless feature to pump up the price, but it’s nice to have around to capture life’s special moments. The phone also functions well as a MP3 player, which isn’t a feature I look for, but I could see someone wanting. It’s nie to be able to use your own original cell phone ring tones I suppose.
A few lower points of performance for this phone are:
For starters the signal quality is average at best. I don’t know what it was but when I tried it I seemed to get lost calls every once in a while. It’s not so bad that being in your car has a big effect, but if you’re in the basement of a house the effect is noticable.
I also wasn’t impressed by the navigation. I mean it’s a phone, how hard is it to figure out that buttons are important. They tried to cram too much onto the phone (like music controls), but I would rather just have a few extra buttons and a decent interface.
My final gripe would be that the phone does not include a USB cable. To hook it up to your computer and download music you need one and they could at least include it in the box.
Overall I give the phone a 3/5.
